Notable changes in the AstroTools mobile app, version by version. Current version — 1.3.0.

Version 1.3.0

An accuracy release: every screen was checked against independent astronomical calculations. One night now yields the same numbers everywhere, and every time is on the clock of the place you chose, not the phone's.

  • Weather: one night score on Home, in the forecast and in Targets; the forecast describes the selected night as a whole — Sun, twilight, tips and the AI verdict; the dark window weighs the Moon by the hours it is up.
  • Moon: the phase is named by the true instant in your time zone; rise and set follow the place's calendar day; the arc joins a rise with the set that follows it; eclipses through 2031 with type and visibility region.
  • The Sun and the aurora have separate screens; Kp "expected tonight" covers the night in progress even after midnight; the oval map follows your hemisphere.
  • Satellites: only the visible part of a pass is shown, with its real brightness; a pass in progress says so; the terminator on the map is a true great circle.
  • Tonight's targets: the list and the altitude chart use the same night; catalogue duplicates removed; zenith transit accounted for.
  • Meteor showers: the best time comes from the radiant's real altitude that night and the Moon at that moment.
  • The cloud map fills the whole screen on every device; without a chosen place it opens on the default city.
  • The "good weather tonight" notification arrives two hours before sunset at the chosen place.
  • One-step account deletion that also revokes Apple and Google sign-in; the About screen lists every data source; rare crashes fixed.

On iOS this is the first App Store release; its feature set matches version 1.3.0.

  • Meteor showers: a calendar of the twelve major showers — peak nights, rates, whether the radiant rises and how much the Moon interferes.
  • Satellite passes: a schedule of visible ISS and Tiangong passes over your location, with notifications.
  • Minor improvements and bug fixes.

  • Smarter night rating: now factors in the Moon and real darkness — twilight and white nights.
